Weber One Coat Render - Advice Wanted

Members online

We’ve just had our house rendered using Weber Render in Silver Pearl. I was unhappy about the expansion bead at the back of the house and the difference in colour already (looks like two houses) Tonight we have put on the outside lights and the walls look a mess. All pitted and uneven. Is this normal? It seems such a lot of money for a finish I wasn’t expecting. Am I expecting too much?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

The light is the problem. U can get lights that are made to go on to render walls. So the light is not just shining down or up the wall. At the expansion bead. The walls where done at different stages. If the walls look ok in daylight it should be good enough.

I just didn’t know if I was expecting too much. Scaffold down today, this is the finish.

It is a bit bumpy but those lights will show the slightest imperfection. The light casts shadows and even the flattest of walls will show some wave.

There is a blue brick building in my City what looks really good brick laying during the day but go past at night when the down lighters are on and you wonder how the bricklaying got past the Clerk of Works.

As for the two colours? Have you given sufficient drying out time? It is very damp at the moment. Give us a clue when the two walls was done.

If they have dried out then was both walls done in the same weather conditions? For example finished in a day but one day was warm dry air the other damp air. A wall finished set and drying will dry out lighter than a wall finished nearly set but still full of water.

I did a wall like yours once in August. The left same day finish but full of water when set the right side was done as an overnighter. The right side was set and dry. The right side was a lot lighter.

It was completed last Wednesday. Both sides done different days. One dry day and one wet day. Is this normal then? Do I just accept that it looks like two houses?

Give it more time to dry out better. The air is damp at the moment.

If it does dry out two shades Rendit in Doncaster can sort it out or sell you the materials to diy.

And the rippled effect is normal? I was just expecting a nice smooth finish so I’m feeling disappointed. Thanks for all the advice.

Great £8500 for “dog s**t”
Just going by the picture it looks bad. Was the sun shining across the render when the picture was taken. The sun can show up every imperfection. But tbh I think u got a bad job done. But its easy for me to criticises it from a picture.

I wouldn’t say it’s particularly sunny. It was taken this morning and it’s cloudy so far.

That looks a really bad job. Put a straight edge or straight bit of wood across it. I'd be surprised if that isn't way out all over the place with low and high points

Agree with what's been said, it's an inferior job.
It is the season,as I said on another post the other day. how many bad render posts will be on here over the summer.....

Does anyone have an opinion of what I should be expecting to be done? I’ve paid £5500 of the £8500 bill so far. If I settle the bill I’ve been offered to have it painted in Weber p paint free of charge.

Will say it is too, on the other thread I couldn’t see close up on pictures
So ignore my comments on there
