Hi guys.

I assumed pva over a scratch s/c coat before applying weber( first time using) was standard but having searched this site I see that it's not!
Q - do I use sbr mixed with water as if its pva then coat the walls air until tacky then weber render it?

I want to avoid delamination :)

So what is a safe bet other than webers own products to apply on s/c render before weber :)

Awesome thanks folks!

Is the scratch in sand cement or is a butter coat of weber? if its weber it has already controlled the suction, but if sand cement i would apply a fine mist spray of water using a pump spray bottle, :-) avoid getting it soaked as you are looking for suction here for the top coat and to avoid sag

Thanks but I was looking to see what others have used since weber always insist on buying their products - I wanted to see if sbr was sufficient or not . . Cheers

thanks fella! So no pva sealant or any key products to be laced on other than water?
It's sand cement scratch - is dry - rendered it 48hrs ago.

Cheers

Weber what? Mono?

You probably could on a well scratched scratch coat but don't bother with the sbr it will slide and all go wrong. The scratch alone will stop it delaminating.

Don,t bother ring Weber they will not approve.

I did my first W, mono job on a S&C scratch and although it turned out ok, it had it,s problems. I had to dub out a rubble wall gable to flat then put on 18mm by hand. First and last time! Got a machine, never do that hand apply again unless under 20m2.
