webber thin coat question

Hi all.

I have had my house rendered with a webber system. I'm very happy indeed.

However I want to render a small section of a new brick built garage using the same system.

Now I the bloke I used before will come and do the top coat, and I'll get the base ready (to save me money)

So the basecoat to the house was applied at 5-6mm, then the orange mesh and then the mesh covered with another 1mm of basecoat.

I have loads of mesh and beading from the original Job, so I just need some basecoat really.

Can someone point out the name of the basecoat I need? And roughly the sqm it will cover.
I've looked on webbers site and there are loads lol. I dont want to order wrong stuff.

And where is the best place for a diy'er to buy it.

What finish have you got? Was the system thin coat or did you just have a thin base coat applied?

Don't bother, you are going to save a tiny amount and you could balls up the finished job, leaving high points etc will cost you more for the top coat.
If you were very happy with the original job, do the same on the garage and be happy with that as well.

It was a thin coat over the dried base cote.

Cheers big k. Good advice, just I am keen to have a go as side of garage is very out of the way. My internal skimming skills are good (I do my own) so figured one spare Sunday I could easy apply the base to a very straight block wall.

Fair enough if you're competent...but you can't really blame the other guy if it looks any different/less flat or anything
 
Hi Coop

Think you will find that the Weber Basecoat is called LAC - check with your original renderer

You will get data sheets and info for bag sizes and approx coverage from the Weber website, or call them

Make sure your original renderer - who will finish it for you - knows and is happy beforehand, it will have his name on it long term, if you sell up...
