Now then lads

been offered one of these today its round about 10 month old mint and not so far from me.so guy will jump on with us to show us how to use it etc.
fella wants 15 grand for it.
ill admit its new teritory for me is machine plastering but im looking to expand into it cos i seem to be pricing up bigger projects, one of the lads that works for me has done plenty, and i know other lads that can jump on with it

obiously ill do a fair bit of research into it before i go look at it in person, but just wondered what opinions are on here about it and is there any value in it at that figure.cheers

Tell you what mate I would need to see his bill of purchase for the machine surley these lads on here would sort you a deal out for a machine.

utiform v2 is about 14.5 k new. You need to consider when buying a machine
1, What will you use it for currently
2, How can a machine benefit you
3, Do you have somewhere to store it
4, How have other plasterers benefitted from using a machine
5, Why is this one for sale

I would do some homework as you have suggested and speak or visit to regular spreads who use a machine, this will maybe show you some options you haven;t considered good or bad and leave you ready to make a decision.

thanks blones sound advice
cheers for the other responses.

ill elaberate, although for obious reasons not in to much detail and because lads on here might have subied for the firm.
basically what it is im thinking about doing, is buying his whole business as a going concern.at the moment im just assesing what it is worth.the machine is included in the sale of assets there are loads of other stuff that im going to pick through hoses, scaffold etc couple of vans.
the business is ltd and is solvent and hes selling it do to having other constructon interests and not having time to run it hands on.its is not advertised yet. i know the other firm that he has interests in.
im due to look at books, business plan and at his forward contracts next week.with a specialist contracts lawyer [whose family as it happens]
im proposing to run it paralel to my own business and my plan is to incorpoate it together,at the moment its solely run as an external rendering outfit with a decent portfolio of past work and contacts in the north of england.
im going to store it at my current industrial unit aswell as transfer the business to my current registered offce there if i go ahead with it.

thanks ill let you know how i get on.

its a big machine that pal My mate has two of those but I have never been interested. its a trailor type also that you hook up and tow on the back of your van, has built in genny/engine and jet wash. it will be good for big sites I imagine, no need to move it just unhook where you can and pallet away it will pump all round the job but it seems dear that.

a similar set up was on ebay not long back for around 9k and that was a putzmeister,

One tip tho the guy I know who has these type never leave the lock up so what does that tell ya?

any machine is better than hand applying it,
however its allot of money to spend on a machine that can only be used for external work. An electric machine is easier to move around and will do everything a diesel machine will do plus a whole lot more. In Germany where machine plastering was born, diesels are considered old technology

agree with all here owls I have had same long look into machines and really got me mind set on a G4/5 set up

the future is machine plastering on site in my opinion,
so its just which avenue to go down,i dont really touch outside work at the moment but its a market im hoping to crack into this year as i usually pass it over at the moment.around my neck of the woods nobody does any machine work, even the bigger boys that ive sub contracted for before, are still aplying float and set by hand, and external mono.
the way i look at it id spend 15 grand on a machine if i had the work for it,its just like buying any other machinery, its just down to old school lads not trying something different.

yeah a machine will come in if you plan on doing alot of external, All I do is render systems with the odd plastering in with it. got subbies with machines but they come down from yorkshire or north east mainly, more sole trader subbies over there with machines of their own than round my end where the machines tend to belong to the firms, when I get one it will be a company aquisition but I wont be letting the subbies use it - its for me and another guy to use as the rates are not high enough anymore to work just in the office gotta make a wage from being on th tools but cant wait to get one

yes mate, we already have G5's so it makes sense to sell the G4 and replace it with a G5. Then if a caddy is in for service we can just swap it out and keep all our machines on jobs

Owls 15k on a v2 is a waste of money if you only do insides. maybe consider a machine to help you do what you're doing allready and the rest will follow soon enough.

get on u tube and see whats happening in machine platering

v2 deisel is ideal if you only render or do liquid floors, if your plastering a 3 phase or even a ritmo would be better suited!

Simps be carefull of browny he's a s*x crazed monster at the moment who stinks of baby puke he's only coming to you to get sunk to his nuts as soon as you bend over

And if anyone is interested i am selling our G4 if your interested PM me i'm not wasting my time advertising on here just for the usual T***s to give their over rated opinions on what a waste of money machined are, but will give details via PM

yeah not too bad. sometimes theyre good other times not. only if ur ontop of ur set. if it starts going off on u theyre a waste of time. and forever sanding the lines out of it. im still a bit unsure on it.

i hardly use mine now nick, i use the midget trowel that came with it more than the plastic!

simps how much mp75 are u finding u can do a day with the ritmo?

on my own, so im spraying, bagging , rulling. around 20 bags a day with someone spraying and me ruling and bagging we will do about 30-35 bags in morning and a small 10 bag in afternoon.
This is on stairwells so not easy but on normal rooms i would say 30 bags a day on my own and 50 with a 2 gang
