Hi guys,

Wondering how many times you all trowel the ceiling or wall once the 2nd coat is on????
After 2nd coat I flatten it sraight away then again 5 mins later,
then spray bottle & trowel it straight after that, then again another 2-3 times till it starts turning brown in small areas then a few trowels with no water.
I know this sounds a lot but i can't leave it alone it must be my OCD lol.
I saw a plasterer once he went to the chippy while his plaster still needed flattening!!!!
I think i would have had a panic attack if i did that ffs!!!

So i do 6-8 trowels from 2nd coat being put on is this too much or acceptable??

I must say it has a nice shiney finish when ive finished :)

Just going to price another job up, plaster patching,
not gonna hold me breath :(

indeed now my elbows shot i flatten second coat then cross trowel it makein sure its spot on perfect then i do one wet trowel, cross with the plastic trowel then final trowel is dry with the plastic with one more cross with plastic aswell, i find useing the plasic i cnt do 2 wet trowels otherwise itll be tooooo shiney and the decs struggle

I only ever flatten/polish that bit extra when its finish on browning/hardwall dont overly do it when im skimming
