I always get my gear on a trade cash account at Travis Perkins and thought I was on a good deal. Bag of Multi £4.60 and so on. Working in Aintree at the moment and couldn't find a TP so I went to B&Q trade and couldn't believe how cheap they were.

Examples.

If u buy 5 or more of the following these are the prices:

Thistle Multi £3.25

Thistle Bonding £4.46

Drywall Adhesive £4.24

pack of 5 thin coat beads £ 8.49

Square edge or Tapered 1800 x 900 £2.86

I always thought B&Q was for pensioners and Dole scum but my nieve eyes have been opened.
;)

Wickes do a similar deal for multi etc when you buy 5 bags. To be honest I tend to steer away from the so called 'trade' outlets as they always seem more expensive!

B&Q and Wickes sell shed loads of the stuff and therefore seem to be able to knock it out a little bit cheaper. Just watch your use by dates. I bought some rapid set cement the other day from Wickes and it expired 2007. It was only for a bit of patchin so I used what I needed then took it back next time I went to pick up some multi and asked for a refund saying I only noticed once I'd started mixing it. Hey, £5 quid is £5 quid  ;)

Mate the only reason firms use the big merchants is to pay later,ie every quarter or such, wickses,b and q best places for cash!

Re: Travis Perkins, My Ass!

only thing is I think it's trade deal. I live in Barrow in Furness and they've only got a mini warehouse B&Q and i don't think it's got the trade section >:(
The joe pubic prices are higher than TP. bummer :'(

We've only got normall B&Q shops local and we always buy multi and bonding from them. They're about 70p cheaper for a bag of multi and about 50p for bonding. We use about a pallet or more of multi every week and it adds up to a lot of wedge. More beer tokens!

Get a B&Q trade card. Get 60 days to pay!
