do i need to put on bonding before i multifinish?
i was helping out a plasterer on a job and he said pva it then just spread multifinish thick
what do you guys think??
bonding will help you out a bit if the pattern is silly thick but 99% of the time just knock your multi up thick, make sure you cover the pattern first coat let it pull in and top as normal..
dont forget to control your suction first though..
you can do it with bonding and then skim, but its a longer process, normally i give it a quick scrape, 2 coats of pva, 1st coat mixed with water so its tacky, between finger and thumb, then apply, let dry, then another coat same mix, let it go tacky, then skim 2 coats, others may do it a slightly different way,2nd coat goes on when the 1st coat has stiffened a bit, 2nd coat is fresh stuff. as chris said bonding helps cover a heavy pattern, also he can type faster than me.........the barsteward
