just out of interest.... has anyone ever used any acrylic based primer as used by tilers before skimming?? if its good enough to hold up 20kg+ per m2 of tiles and adhesive without probs then surely it should do the trick for finish...

ah well this its the thing, theres so many different brands, for a little 1kg bottle its about £5? mixed at a ratio of 1-1

a different one i use for tiling is premixed and doesnt need diluting and that costs me £20 for 5kg

think ill wait till im at college and i'll give it a go and see how it turns out before using it in customers homes, cant see it having any problems tho, just whether or not it will benefit atall than pva

i tell you what mate i swear bond it was derived for tiling over tiles ........before it found it's way to the plastering circus so it could well be the same thing

never used bondit.. whats its texture like? nice and thick or thin?
the stuff thats undiluted is still quite runny, much runnier than PVA infact, needs to be shaken as some of the mixture settles slightly at the bottom of the bottom, smells quite chemically? its usually about £30 but i get trade discount @ £20 but it is a good brand 10 year guaruntee and all that jazz. bet a cheap brand wil do the job and for alot less

bond its nasty stuff really mate, it is thick and splatters like mad so it's best to water it down a bit ...it's got tiny little bits in it smaller than sand

hmm acrylic primer with kiln dried sand... could work i guess
