If money wasn't a main consideration what is the best van for a plasterer out there at the moment

Money not a real issue. Transit SWB 140 limited. Full steel bulkhead, takes 8x4's, 3m box of cove. Has a side door. Drives as good as a car. The cab is luxurious compared with bog standard vans so you know that after a hard day at the office you can cruise home in comfort with enough grunt from the 140 horses for a spot of road rage! Or listen to your fave cd's on the 6 disc and if your phone should ring whilst in your pocket just press the telephone button on the dash and speak via the built in blue tooth, the callers number and name (if in the phones memory) displays on the CD!! Oh, i just so happen to have this van......:RpS_drool:

the one that fits the latest pft (western wales) machine inside without the need for a trailer for there ego

Do PFT make an EGO i could sell a few of them

so tranny is the best option then. Those new vanvault roofracks will hold a pack of coving

Eight trips to the merchants for enough coving for a 4 bed house then.

Not with a T5.

I'd get a T5 Ian. Maybe a LBW.

....OR you could just get that lot of cove delivered to the job. I can't deny the T5 is good (i had one) with the folding double???? seat. Transit's more suited to the plastering trade though, in my opinion. A bigger van, a wider dealer network, parts are cheaper than most (don't even mention renault lol) and the reliability is arguably every bit as good as VW. Speaking from experience.

you can get a box of cove in the back with the bulkhead, 2 at a push.....then you need a saw!!!

I don't generally carry materials, but had an early start the following day so picked them up myself. I plan on getting a bulkhead fitted to keep the cab cleaner, if I don't change the van next year when the new Sportline is launched.

I've got a transit & agree best van for the trade :RpS_thumbup:
there's rust, bumps, scratches, duct tape holding bits together..
but apart from that never had any trouble with it in 4yrs apart from new accelerator pedal, been to France in it 6 times aswell no problemo :RpS_biggrin:

But Casper is wanting to swap his black beast for my White nail :RpS_unsure:

You know that ltd was made for Nisus mate come on give it up!!!! :RpS_thumbsup:

No matter how much you polish that transit, it'll still be a pikeys van.

Errrguhhh that's one ugly van! :rolleyes)

I'm looking at summat like this for my next van,

Aye, it's a 174 sportline!! lovely van. Very, very expensive! JEEZ!!! i've just read that line aboot my Transit being likened to a....."excuse me" PIKEYS van! I haven't seen a gypo in a 140 ltd with metallic paint lol Maybe worth a mention....a pikey approached me in a petrol station when i had my T5....HE wanted to buy it. Seems V DUBS are popular with the pikeys too! :rolleyes)

you mugs, ive had leyland dafs cheap n cheerfull, vw's, expensive when they need a part (commonly, Fords, rust buckets, noisy and
generally pikey vans, no offence the surrey tarmaccers, renaults with s**t g boxes etc . Lads, the best vans are the Fiat/Citroen/Peugeot
version of the Ducatto. Same van, Fiat 3k cheaper. Wide vans aswell. Bought mine9 yrsa go 6 months from new and drives like new. For sale squirrel nest

My Transit rusts, but its absoutly mint.My T5 had a turbo bearing smash and go through the turbo. My Shitroen fell to bits.My most reliable work horse was my Escort Van.

Doubt i would fit in one now though.

great van ---plenty of space -----

iveco make trucks not shopping cars!

I got 10 years out of a Bedford CF2 before it went to the grave - paid £1200 for it = £120 a year = £10 a month.:RpS_thumbup:
