tar and chip road surfaces

What is the point to these surfaces?

It's like they think they can paint in a pothole...

All it does is chip the Crap out of your car make it a nightmare on a bike and fill the drains with gravel....

Just a quick fix i guess the roads are in a bad way across the country! They should save money by not putting so many speed bumps in to fook our veicles up and spend the money on the roads that need it!!

This is terrible there is a huge ridge through the middle of the road..

when cars drive over them they get bedded into the road, can't do that with tarmac obviously,

What is the point to these surfaces?

It's simply the cheapest way of resurfacing a road. Anyone remember "Coolhand Luke"?

A bit like the Corvair in 1960s USA, it's cheaper to pay the compensation claims than it is to do the job properly.
