Hi everyone, I have recently taken on my brothers house to help him out as the builders he had in have been very expensive and not very good in my opinion!
He has had issues with rising damp. The house is atleast 100 years old with a mixture of stone and old brick walls. I have hacked off the old internal render (not that it needed much hacking), sand and cement rendered and applied 2 coats of tanking slurry 1.5 meters high just to be sure.
I am at the point of applying the final sand cement render before plastering. My question is……..am I better off priming with sbr or sbr mixed with cement (stippled)?
I believe the best bond is sbr with cement but it seems to fill the scratching on the surface it’s applied to. Any advice would be appreciated please.
