what are the going rates ???..........hard to tell at the mo but ive been offered 1.80 per sqm

If that is sitework then it's about right. Before all this Credit Bollox began, the crappiest contractors were paying 1.60 - 1.80 a metre. If it's a one off spec build or private then it's too low. also depends how much there is to do. if i'ts commercial and there are big runs, then you're laughing.
