Well on flat board work i would go round and fill out all the taped joints and all your beading frist, don't leave it to proud on the tapered joints when you fill them out, keep it flush, then once you've done that on all the walls your going to set, start laying on as normal a bit thicker than normal but not to thick, once it's all on, flatten it so no lines what so ever, then once it's picked up a bit, so you can touch with fingers and still see marks slightly...Flick water on with brush or sprayer and make sure sponge is wet to and rub up and down with sponge makeing sure you get all over, once sponged trowel up, might find you pull a lot of fat off....
You need to time it right, to late and it will look s**t and you won't get the sponge marks out, to early and it's to messy and to wet and the board and scrim can show through....
Hard to explain really, easier to show, it's not to everyones taste...Sometimes on domestic i can't be f**k*d to get it out, but on site i will...
If you do use it for frist time on site, i'd do a small area or cupboard incase you get caught out.....
I use it to my advantage, easier if your shown...Some people proberly do it different, as long as the finish is bang on, no one can say nothing....
