sponge base coat??

Hello all
Just wondering your views on finishing ewi base coat so it's ready for priming and machine applied finish. Do you sponge if so what's the best sponge to use.
Or the best way to to get it done

I usually trowel/spat finish.

It is said that sponging bring the goodness out of the basecoat.

Also the better the basecoat the harder to sponge

We have always been advised by manufacturers such as Knauf Insulation, JUB and Mapei to avoid sponging basecoats as it brings the fines to the surface weakening the Basecoat

might be alright if you used a sponge that wasn't dripping wet with water.

think you'd probably want to use a stiff yellow car sponge tbh.

I am right in saying it has a low polymer content hence its easy to sponge compared to others?

Wetherby premium yes. Heck k&a is much stronger. Parex maite the strongest
