Me and a mate have a couple of thousand metres to keep us occupied with for a few weekends.

For ease I expect. They have used a fixing 'T' behind the horizontal joint for strength.
 
tony you seem to have only skimmed the joints and screw holes mate. god, don't you know anything.

sshhhhh. I painted the sealer on before they noticed. Anyway, what do they expect for £4.25 a metre?
 
looks a good job 2 get. prefer 2 skim.the boards but far superior finish.dont realy like taping going back and sanding it.av noticed a lot of poxy painters. doing taping.doing us spreads out of work.but looks a good job.guys.

Uncle Tony I'm dabbing and tacking at the mo and I'm getting half inch gaps at the ceiling line and I'm cutting my boxes at an angle to try and get them neat but the board keeps popping around them where am I going wrong?

Footlift them up then put pads under them spunk and solid dab around sockets mate

Measure twice, cut once. Have the wires been chased back or are they on the surface, as that can sometimes push the board out, especially where the wire enters the box and they use a rubber grommet.
 
I'm doing that mate I rub a bit of drywall on the socket bang it on the wall then cut the socket out and it's still out lol
 
its a well known fact that only chippys can get every box cut out spot on every time, they take F*****g ages to do it and theyll use laser levels, jigsaws, routers. but they get it spot on
 
If i'm doing a wall with several sockets, i'll cut the boards and prop them in place before sticking, to make sure they are accurate.
 
I reckon you cut the boards and cut out the sockets and then the ******* building moves and it's all out
 
Wet the boxes, present the board to it and voilà! a perfect template on the reverse side :RpS_thumbup:

Sometimes If I haven't had a good nights sleep, or if my dog has traipsed dog s**t through the house just as I am about to leave, I like to beat the metal boxes flat against the wall with my hammer, and board straight over them. This gives a much more minimal and contemporary look to the rooms. I'm not a complete c**t though, as I will normally buy the client a couple of cheap extension leads from B&Q to compensate them.

Instead of the drywall use the edge of a plasterboard and like whats been said use the foot lever to lift the board tight to the ceiling them bang it that should be perfect.

Dont know who wrote the rules Spunk but generaly you dont stagger wall boards unless you are going 3 high and that dont happen often.

Be quite honest mate i dont see the problem, i just use a tape end of its only a hole in a bit of plasterboard
 
I usually stagger wall boards on large walls coz if it does crack its not gonna be one long continual crack plus less waste coz your using all your bits up gotta reduce your carbon footprint :)
 
I'm only joking lucius. measure down from the ceiling and across from the last board. Easy innit. Although chippys do take forever.
 
youll get crackin on that mate.... check out Lucius comments over 3mtr, and dont forget ur movement joints when ur building a partition.
