Alright lads?
Long time no posts but I could do with a hand with this one.

Been asked to quote a metre rate for skimming (roughly 1000 metres) all the walls and ceilings are new board and the project manager wants me to quote including materials. There is a lot of straight forward work, however all the ceilings are barrelled upstairs. downstairs there are quite a lot of angles to contend with also.
Any rough metre rates as a ballpark would be handy.
Cheers

depends how bad you need work or how far your travelling, other over heads etc.

for me id be looking at around the 7 quid mark

Well if you've looked around the job you'll have a good idea what it's worth on a price - divide that by 1000. 7grand job = £7 per metre.

Measure it up first though!

garrett if its commercial your looking at about 4.50m2 supply and fix they dont want to hear about barrel ceilings and angles these days

Sorry mate, it was just a figure.
As I said originally, he has had a look around the job so he will have an idea of how much it is worth - 7grand was just a figure to use as an example. So if he has looked around the job and he reckons it's worth say 6grand (in this NEW example ;D ) then if there is 1000 metres then the metre price is £6. Are ya with me now mate?

It looks like he isn't sure about metre prices and the QS [or whoever] works on metre prices. At the end of the day they both want the bottom-line figure. ;)

Simple eh?

Thanks lads.
Cheers to wizard and bods, i was thinking this was more reallistic. I spoke to the site forman when I "weighed" the job up and suggested about £5.50/metre, he said if I come in at £5.25/metre I should get it.
