I've been asked to finish a job that someone else has started in a swimming pool area.
It's on aquapanel which has been left rough face showing on the ceilings but smooth on the walls. None of it had been primed and seems very high suction. The last spread apparently complained that the finish was peeling away as he applied it which isn't surprising lol. A 2 minute Google told me it needs priming with a bondit type product.
Has anyone used these products before? Are they a pain in the arse to get a nice finish with? What sort of area can you put on and comfortably finish? Do I need to fully mesh the first coat or just joints?
Pics below. Thanks in advance.

I believe this is the primer to be diluted 1:2?

Hi @DannyMac

Welcome back mate!

Knauf have 2 solutions for skim onto Aquapanel Interior - the one you have is the German Aquapanel Joint Filler and Skim Coat White - you sound like you have found the details on the Aquapanel.com website. Yes, this needs a primer - is a powdered product, mix as per the instructions and is hand applied (sanded if needed) and painter (paint by others)

Knauf UK have a render mixed spray applied Aquapanel Interior Skim as well - if you have the airless / pump equipment, it is much faster and easier to apply (paint afterwards by others)

Hope you got sorted - I have been unavailable for the last couple of days, sorry (getting some new training - exciting times ahead!)

Get in touch if you need / want more assistance
