Hi I'm looking to skim over old plasterboad. The old plasterboard is in not too bad condition. Would a coat or two of PVA (5:1) suffice or should I remove and replace the boards? Also should I use Multi or Board finish?

Thanks

two coats of pva will sort it m8 just let the 1st coat dry out b4 u apply the second ,then get the the 1st coat of skim on when your 2nd coat of pva is still tacky

i just water down the pva so its more water than pva then paint it on then skim over it, it doesnt take long to dry so you wont be hanging about waiting to start skimming, or just give it a rub over with some water and brush to get rid of the dust and muck thats on the board

pva the plasterboard put new fibre tape on.you may find the fibre tape loses sticky ness this is because of the pva.put youre beads on.if needed.mix up material.multy or board finish.bed the fibre tape on and skim.old plasterboard will have some suction so it should rub up pretty quick.
