Alright guys started a new job today kitchen first was in a bit of a rush today you know how it is when u start a big job...i'm thinking now that maybe i should board this wall...although all the wires are chased in and can be patched...but for some reason the sparky has trunked some at the bottom and left the fan wire hanging out the top...the hob and oven will take up most of this wall but between them the trunking will be visible...i guess the fan wire ban be trunked when fitted...what u reckon should i have boarded? ???

Its proberbly not chased at the bottom cos it will be hidden behind any units, oven etc. As for the fan cable, its hidden by the extractor unit hood.

I would just patch and skim it mate.

do work for local kitchen company ,the sparkies alwaysl eave there wires surface below worktop hieght, looks the norm to me mate, same as mart says just patch and skim it

Hey...

All patched and beaded up ceiling done....haven't hit the walls yet. But thanks Mart checked and units will cover trunking. As for WBA i use a large brush to apply...havn't used a roller because i was thinking by the time i load it i will have used half the tub! and it will probably splatter everywhere...i find with the brush i can be quite economical putting it where its needed. How do u do it? This house is all glossy paint full reskim...charged the WBA to customer about £160 worth it though so much easier and better finish save time by being able to hit more walls at once.

i use a roller 3D, i thought it would be quiker that way than using a brush...... id love to skim a whole house of wba

Yep used on low suction backgrounds its like PVA but with and aggregate in it. After its dry and you run your hand over the wall feels like rough sandpaper so also provides a key...using it u can skim on concrete...i use it when skimming on gloss paint...trust me u'll never go back!
