Hi
Hive got to do a shadow gap detail instead of a skirting.
Are there beds available to do this easier??

thanks

And bloody time consuming so make sure you allow, you've got to level them or margin them, depends, get them straight ,down the length and cut mitres, done quite a bit of this so good luck your gonna need it.

Never used shadow bead once up north, came down to Essex working and every uses them, does look good and very tidy but fck doing it on a meter rate!

Done a lot in Holland and only ever once in this country, but they look smart when done right and in the right application

Difficult in refurbs though, clean lines need perfection or near enough, we done it on ceilings that were off plumb, but the carpenters routed out the difference in places

a shadow bead clips on a sheet of plasterboard before you fit the board,to give you you a finished edge.
we have used them to produce a gap around a door frame instead of an architrave, and above a skirting line to again to produce a gap. this was in a new hospital ,they then realized that it was a dust trap so we had to fill the lot in.

Not the same bead Malc, your on about the wrap around beads you can't clip shadow gap beads ( feature beads)

You can get shadow beads that clip onto board Superspread, not surprising really seeing as Malc has used them.

Never seen em , i get my gear from Atkins and all they sell is plastering materials and I mean everything plastering, but if you have used them then I stand to be corrected , sorry Malc.

we have used the shadow beads for floating and set, they are usefull when you have quality door linings that you need to protect. the skirtings, are cove skirtings that had been prelaid in sand and cement, so it was quite easy to fit the beads.
we have had other beads on trial , like a movement bead for internal angles, the idea was not to tie in party walls, so they would crack down the internal, then fit a movement bead to cover the crack. i have not seen them since.
the manufacturer will make up special beads, we had some arch beads made up for a ewi job in hertford where there was a lot of arches in the detail.
