Scrim tape type and order

Hi guys,

When joining a butted join board to board, do I use fibreglass scrim tape, then 2 coats of joint compound?

I read this was bad practice and paper tape should be used.

I will be skimming after

Scrim then skim..no need for joint filler first

So is joint compound only used for tapered joins?

What about for ceilings?

What are you doing? Drylining or plastering? If you are plastering just scrim tape and skimm.

Plastering matey, or at least attempting lol!

Apologies for this question, but is dry lining where you never plaster it, just paint over the tapes and seals?

yes, you have to fill the joints after taping
