perhaps i should explain my method, bearing in mind anything bigger than 20m2 gets premixed.
i use a baby belle mixer.
cut bag of cement in half. chuck it over the sharp sand, by spreading it on the sand its already slighty mixed before going into mixer, throw 12 shovelfulls of sharp sand and cement into mixer this equals approx 5:1 mix, tip out straight away even if its not completely mixed. you've still got to spread it and level it which'll finish the mix.
lay screed, take money, hit pub.
this is how i was shown by an irish screeder who'd been 50 (yes 50!) years in the trade.
