SBR or PVA on marmox boards

hi all,

new to this site and wanted some advice on SBR.

gonna be skimming onto marmox boards (in a wetroom bathroom) next week, they have a cement based surface.

i was advised to use SBR instead of PVA as its better for places that will be getting wet and for high suction backgrounds....

my question is should i SBR the night before then another coat, leave till tacky then skim?
just like pva?

or one coat of SBR till dry then skim... or one coat of SBR night before then pva till tacky then skim?!


cant find anything on the forums about the exact process...

also this might be a stupid question but.......

best to scrim before pva/sbr or after?


want to do a good job on this project as its a beautiful house and they are spending good money.

id give it a coat let it suck then liven it bk up with another coat few minutes later then skim on tacky. prefer pva for skimming though. if get drops of sbr on anything wipe away asap as it can be a *******! could put your tape on between sbr coats. if you sbr night before it might hang around to long.

it it beening hard to clean is testament to how good a bonding agent it is.
 
thanks for the advice tined82 :)

what kind of problems might i get from doing the first coat the night before you rekon?
will it just mean that my second coat might dry too fast before i plaster?
im always paranoid about laying on when the PVA/SBR is too wet in case the plaster
starts to drag....

never plastered onto these marmox before and deffo dont want it f@%king up.

i'll check the gyprime out, thanks andy. and craig, the customer has a nice double
height bathroom with a mezzanine.
they have marmoxed the ceilings, walls and floor.
half the walls and ceiling wont be tiled, thats what i'm skimming


this is my first post - very impressed to get some advice so fast...
