sbr before dotting.

Hi Lads,
Got a small dotted wall to remove & re-board because of salts coming through the boards, can't lath it & use foil backs as existing coving as to stay, any thoughts on a sbr slurry & dab, will sbr hold the salts back, it's not a external wall (internal chimney wall).

chimney not in use ,opening dotted out and stack as been taken down from the roof.

pretty sure its clear, it's a bungalow, stack was taken out from just above ceiling height in loft space and roof.

stack as been removed and left open into loft space, no breast just inset opening.
