When your ruling of angle beads with a backward coat do you just pull your feather edge straight up or zig zag left to right as your ruling up?

cant believe these questions? ???rule the Flipping beads off so that there is no bloody base coat over them then cut back to the nib so you can get a good 3mm coverage to edge of bead

Just a quick reminder that this forum is for plasterers of all levels of experience and the the inexperienced ones should still be able to ask any questions they need help with without fear of ridicule ,cheers lads ;)

its all light hearted..agree if you don't ask questions you wont learn. ;)

No problem ;) its just if newbies stop asking questions the forum suffers and we end up talking about football ;D

I don't mind the banter as long as the question gets answered. Sometimes u need telling the question is a stupid one :-*

The term plasterer is often used to literely. Surrely a plasterer is someone who is either qualified or done a certain period of time on the tools. You wouldn't call yourself a mechanic if you done a few bits on your car?

in other words hes saying that you shouldnt need to ask questions like that if you are a "plasterer"
you dont learn unless you ask

the thing is, the reason the forum got so popular in the first place was like minded people (people involved in the plastering trade or people having plastering work completed etc) coming together in one place and sharing info...
whether or not you call yourself a plasterer or a 'wet trade technician', as long as the question is valid, it should be answered... though i agree the search engine gets used far too little...
maybe its time for another category re-shuffle, without over complicating the forum... maybe re-label the newbie section 'information' and split the general into basic and advanced? easy to moderate and should stop people taking the p'ss if a basic question is asked in the basic section?
this is, after all, 'the best plastering resource on the net', lets keep it like that?
just ideas... ???
