Risk

The brickwork might be right as the top brick looks like engineering. Being under the slab its going to absorb water if the slabs and joints are porous so will take a bashing in frosty weather. Done the same on my own property.

But as to timing? Overnight is fine if it is going to be dry but being where it is it will soon stain and could even fail. No drip on the steps and within 150mm of the ground etc etc.
That's interesting rigsby , I get your point but haven't seen it as standard practice , possibly because brickwork usually on show ( obviously work with a dodgy builder lol ) and wouldn't consider moisture penetration to be an issue , if it was wouldn't want eng blocks first course , wouldn't like moisture being held back so close to tile bond , more likely to get problems with freezing temp
