HI all im new to the forum, I have been a domestic plasterer for 11 years house refurbs etc but have never done any rendering and ui keep been asked , im not sure on ratio for scratch coat and top coa thanks hodgy hope someone can help

Hi thanks for reply I have beenbon barn conversions for a company from stockport they taught me to dot and dab over skimmin and tiling etc its just rendering has always aluded me and I gota make the jump I got my own bussiness lol mark hodgkisss plastering
 
Depends on the walls, concrete, brick, old stock, breeze block, tell,us and we will tell you the best option
 
Im going onto external brickwork the bricks has shaled faces I know how prep just the mix ratio and how to rub up and timings ect

Work with someone who knows what they're doing. You'll f**k it up I've no doubt if your a skimmer.

Have to agree though, if you're just used to dot'n'dab and skimming it could end up looking a right mess.

You will not is correct, u won't learn is weak English at best, site not sight. You will learn diction if you read what we write or right as you may say.

Water proofer and lime? Bit counter productive ain't it? Lime opens up the render so what's the point in waterproofer?
I don't use lime on externals just waterproofer. Use lime on internals unless its a damping job then we don't.

Waterproofer in scratch coat, lime in floating coat is the norm ,I think
