On friday i got to k rend an extension on thermalite blocks, ive always done it on concrete blocks. anyone got any tips?

give manufacturer a ring there tech department will sort you out . i have reps number if need be .another good lad is les from lord and downing they do nowt but scratch render and hes very helpfull

the job has been put back till nxt thurs bloody windows not there yet! i rang the rep (good idea) and he said to mesh up the building first then it should be ok. do you do much k rend ? ive been doing it solid for 2 years nearly , but never on thermalite love it !!!!!!!!!!! ;D

K rend? I not heard of that... is it the one you use plastic beads for and comes in colours?

Danny

krend is a specialist prebagged render comes in many differant colours and its guaranteed for 30 yrs .ive always had bother putting it through my machine thats why i prefer webber .

another day another dollar

K rend is the best !!!!! i lay it on manually ( machine rend is horrid if you got to lay it yourself) and ive used a few different types of coloured like monorex, maxi, marmorite , and weebber, K rend spreads like butter all the others seem really dead and unworkable. How much can you generally get on with the machine per day, i never used one.

timlad is the krend system you use a one coat application or do have to put it on in two coats the reason i ask is we did a webber job and had to put a 1st coat of what seemed like a coat of bonding but it had a stringy sort of stretchy texture it only had to be 3 or 4 mm thick and we rang webber to make sure we were on the right track just asking as we get asked for all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff these days cheers in advance

that bonding for webber is rendaid you normally use it on poor brickwork or engineering bricks then scratch it with a comb its to stop ghosting on the joints .

I am actually on site tomorrow doing just standard sand and cement rendering...

Can anybody show me how or where to learn this rendering (K rend)

Cheers

Danny

wow that k rend business sounds well technical? and all the colors wats that all abt?? look great on the side of a house in the land of oz?? lol

danny where are you at if not to far away i will show you .you could always ring rep up he will come out and show you got his number if you need him

S E as ive told you before im from manchester but Im interested in k rend and machine plastering is it right a rep will show you k rend method if so whats his no

go to sas-europe.com this web site has contact number for k rend and i know your from manchester mur i was on about danny but no probs .by the way are you a city fan or do you sit next to a cockney when you watch football

mur speak to les at lord and downing he is the king of machines he can tell you everything you need to know about machines . he is a sound guy i wanted to buy a ritmo off him but he told me to forget it you can put it on faster by hand (ritmos a machine that sprays finish on ) he done himself out of a sale by telling me the truth thats the sort of guy he is good luck in your quest for machine plastering

Did the job yesterday, looked nice. i got my labourer to go ahead of me rolling on this r7 adhesive to the thermalites, then i came behind when it was tacky giving it 2 coats of k rend, the total job was 75m2 so it took me till 12 to lay it all on, normally the first panel would have been ready to scrape by then, but the r7 held it back till 5 so i was there till 8 scrathing it up, but nice job just hope it dont crack !!

Definiately wanna learn this!!!

lol doing bloody rendering on site... an the theiving polish bastards run off with my cement mixer!! Soon give it back when the three of us came round looking for it!!

lol

hello people im new to this forum

if anyone is interested ive been rendering solid now for about 10 years only using specialist renders such as weber and k-rend and 3 years ago invested in a pft g5 spray machine (bought from les at lord and downing) the machines are fantastic and my record in one day was 210 square meters (thats a 3 man gang 2 spreads 1 lab) however i have just upgrade my machine to a m-tec 300 wich also came from les , this machine sprays just about everything beating the outstanding performance of a g5

if any one wants a machine then i would definatly recommend les , there is nothing this man doesnt know about machines and the technical backup you get from him is faultless

however i cannot stand k-rend i think it is the worst render in the world.......til i got my m-tec

i just find it a very heavy material wether hand applied or machine applied it has a long setting time and isnt very nice to finish compared to other materials on the market however as i said i have just bought a new m-tec and les done the demonstration with k-rend silcone e grade (the worst type as it wont go through any machine) and i must admit it felt completley different

the best materials are monorex, maxit and weber

i have used monorex and i find it quite hard to spot all the misses and have used maxit aswell which i thought was good, have yo ever used prorend i got a job coming up with the stuff

yeah i have , i only done one gable end in it , its made by sas-europe it isnt very nice im afraid we tried to spray it we struggled to get it to pump throught our machine and it kept blocking up the pipes we only put on about 40 meteres in it and we was still there at 6 30 waiting for it to go off the thing we found with it was that it has a very course aggregate in it and it seems to bunch up as you spread it and it feels very heavy with no body to it.

but that is only from my point of view remember that we spray it so it doesnt get a very long mixing time approx 45 seconds compared to using a mixing paddle which prob ets about a good 5 mins

but im still to meet someone who thinks its good

let me now how you get on with it

S E as ive told you before im from manchester but Im interested in k rend and machine plastering is it right a rep will show you k rend method if so whats his no

hello mur if you want to use k-rend and learn machine plastering then definatly go and see les ive been dealing with him for 3 years now and i honestly wouldnt go anywhere else

as i said ive just got this m=tec machine and its probably one of the only ones that spray k-rend properly

they cost £5800 + vat and then you'll need a 3 phase generater about £2500-£3000 but trust me they are worth the money

i use normal hand applied k rend , i know it ain the best for things like cracking but laying it on it spreads lovely
