Rendering where Ivy was?

Hi All

After some advice on best way to clean red brick wall before rendering which had ivy growing up it. Ivy all cleared away once died off and wire brushed but there are still traces of the dead ivy, marks etc, on the wall. any ideas for getting a good clean before rendering?

I don't think root marks will come through if they're just marks.
