Rendering over old stone

Have to do a old house in sand and cement. Was thinking of 2to1 scud with sbr 4to1 scratch coat and 6 1 1 finish coat. What do you guys think any other suggestions.

I use an sbr slurry and chuck it on. Your scud should work.

As I rule we scud,dub coat then if your lucky 1 scratch coat.if they want it flat another scratch with mesh then top

Am hacking off the old wet dash tomorrow ill see how bad it is. Might need 2 scratch coats. If so i think ill do the first coat 4to1 2nd coat 5to1 and top 6 1 1 How much do you pay for a role of mesh.

I did a barn conversion 2 yrs ago and was speced a 5:1:1 mix for scratch and top. Still not a crack to be seen on that job.
I normally do 4:1 and a top of 5:1:1 or 6:1:1 tho.

If using sand and cement try and use a mesh with bigger holes.cost more though
Dbp sell it although the quality is poor

Hate that 4mm shite that every render supplier sells to go with there mono! Hard on the arms pushing mono through that crap! Bigger stuff 8mm mesh is well better
