Got to look at one tomorrow, haven't done one for years was thinking not to bother with waterproofer in the scratch as its quite damp down here and the stones should hold it back.

Problem with it is getting good adhesion and knowing the strength of the under Neath coat, planning to rendaid?

If you rendaid first do you still need your coats of render to be weaker than the original?

Or just consider the rendaid to be the sub straight and crack on as normal?

Iwould normaly SBR slurry asif and on a proper job maybe consider rendaid but this customer is an ethnic who wants it done for nothing so he will only get what he wants to pay for.

Irish? I have looked at an old dashed house tonight in whey ridge ,she wants it like next door which is original brick, I told her to google wallcrete and see if she liked it and then someone on here can do it..

If the old dash is clean and solid then you could go over with a waterproofed scratch coat and second coat dash. Hack the reveals off to give more room for the frames. Sbr would be a good idea but if he is a tight git and no warranty given then just the above.

Seen them blow though.

You would use shitloads of rendaid over the dash i would imagine......................:RpS_unsure:

There is a firm in SELondon which specialise in this kind of thing think they are called Mahon Brickwork something like that they remove the dashing and restore the original brickwork looks good but ime guessing pricey.

a house just around the corner from me had a stone dash finish. a chap sprayed rend aid over it to tighten the stones then he spray painted it. looks a smart job.

I'm over rendering a gable at the mo ,I loath doing it,was not what I got taught, but this stuff is rock solid,I did the back a few years ago,and they want the gable doing now.
its a stipple finish, but its a granno render mix,Absulutly rock hard,I would knock the house down hacking it off.
anyhoo, bought some rend aid today so gonna paint it on,I slurried the back with SBR and cement, and its solid, but thought I'd try rend aid on the gable as you lot bang on about it,so if it falls off its you're lots fault and I will have a proper hissy fit and throw a tantrum, biting on my tongue and shaking my hands up and down like a little G** girl,so be warned ;)

It will be fine Craig, done it myself many times. Still look good and crack free many years on.
Don't mention acting like a G** girl or arti will be on you stroking your hair and offering you lollipops
