Hello you sexy b*tches.

Ok, so i've a plasterer coming next week to render the back of my place with my help :) saving the pennies so sorting all the other things out.

He said get Belcast and Angle beads and he's now on holiday so I can't ask him these questions:

1) Are Stop Beads the same as Belcasts?

2) He said galvanised are ok for belcasts and for corner beads stainless are better? Why does it matter for corner beads to have stainless (rust proof) but for Corners galvanised (will rust) are ok?

3) What depth for these things?

4) Do all the beads need to be the same depth?

5)PVA - regular or external stuff?

Thanks guys

darn, no edit.

the very last question was.

6) Given the price of stainless angle beads being around £10, why not use pvc ones that are lots cheaper?

1.Stop beads are different to bellcast or drip beads

2. i would use plastic beads. galvi beads will rust in time

3/4. get 15mm plastic corner beads and bellcast come as they are

5. use SBR not PVA

6. plastic beads are about a fiver each from B&Q.......................and about £3.50 anywhere else.................:RpS_wink:

Thanks arti.

In the photo below, what bead would you say is needed where the yellow line shows:

.. surely a stop bead?

Yeah you want a stop bead here. Bell casts only go horizontally at the dpc. Also Above windows if thats what the customer wants

thanks Beddy.

Weird thing is the plasterer/friend/render who is comign to help me said I wouldn't need stop beads :/

I'll get a pack and if they're not needed i'll take them back.
