Rendagrip

I've got a job to harl an extension and existing house which has previously been harled. The top coat is boss in places, some of it has been stripped and the scratch coat seems solid its just a little bit too smooth for my liking. I've not used rendagrip or any other product like it but was wondering if you guys thought it would be ok to strip off all top coat and go over the scratch coat (aslong as its all sound) with the rendagrip and would it be ok to put another scratch coat then top coat on? Ideally I would just do it in one coat but the extension is butting up to the original and it will be a 16mm coat so don't want a difference of thickness on the joint of old and new

Bit mad going over a scratch that has failed once, it might not be the key that's the problem maybe the mix? If you do go over it using a bonding product I would do a tight scratch to sort out the suction on the top coat.

Scratch hasn't failed I reckon it was just too smooth to take the top coat, the scratch marks aren't very deep. I thought rendagrip controls suction? I think ill need to give it a scratch coat anyway to bring it out t thickness, I found a data sheet that says you can apply upto 25mm thick, ill not be near that so should be fine. cheers for advice
