anyone use the refina plastering finafinish trowels? or used them before preferably the 18" one and if so how do they compare to the marshalltown

I have a few refina trowels but not the one you mention.

They are well made and evenwhen thrown off the scaffold in frustration their shape well

I got an old refina steel trowel gives a great finnish.I only use it on the final trowel as its razor sharp and leaves a glass finish.
Nowdays > i know some wont agree but i like the stainless steel trowels i find i get no drag with them and once worked in keep great shape and last!!

Why do wanna use a 18inch trowel ? is it for floors? why put ur body through that extra pressure.
Anyhow refina like Rich says are quality 100%.

I seem to recall my old partner having one but I recall it was very rigid and took ages to break?
I fancy the 18" one as a crimbo treat for myself

I dont lay on with it pal, just trowel up with it and after I rule render I sometimes close in with a big trowel instead of a spat so no extra strain intended - I always lay on with a 13" or a 14"

For the last few years i lay on with 11 inch.i stll empty a hawk in 3 trowels same as if using 14 inch but def is it better on the wrists and elbows.

i must have 12 trowels no kidding. I like one for s/c one for bonding one for this one for that etc etc.
All makes and models refina MT and tyzack. mainly use tyzack as like the thinner handle

im not too sure mate, i had a refina as my first trowel. it bent the wrong way 3 times, got fed up with it so bought a mt permashape, nice trowel but too wide. got another refina and a thinner marshall town and ended up selling the refina and now i use the marshall town. none permashape. i literally spent about 20minutes with a wet stone and some sand paper and its perfect already.

yeah I cant find a marshall that is thin enough at 18" because they all seem to be 5" wide but I dont want it for carrying gear just as a finishing/smoothing trowel refina seem to be around 4.5 wide but a 4 would be ideal

20" refina for the last 7/8 years.
I got this vision of you now flinny.

Home made wooden hawk 24"with a log for a handle, primark joggers with elasticated bottoms, rigger boots (even for small private jobs) one of em really thick lumber jack shirts. am i close

i know marshall town do a 4" wide trowel but it may be a concrete trowel, if youve got time to wear it in that may be the one for you
