Just make sure when u train up the scaffs that for RENDERING THE SCAFF NEEDS TO BE BACK 10 INCH FROM THE WALL MINIMUM..

I don't mean to shout but not many scaffolders know this.....so that's 10 INCH MINIMUM. DO YOU HEAR!

Struggling around a bad scaffold does more damage to your body on site than anything else but the busy body health and safety don't seem to know this coz they are too busy chunnering on about using hop ups inside.

maybe an idea for the person using the scaffold to ask the scaffolders if they will erect the scaffold how they actually need it, remember its a spanner not a crystal ball... and you wont get it 10'' min... toofar away, unless you can work round a double handrail on the inside...

You will get it 10 inch back. And of course we ask when we get our own work but when u turn up to site to do a few days on a couple hundred metres the scaff is in long before we get there obviously .

10 inch is allowed its a tad over 1 plank its normal. 12 in some cases. Just when its 4mm off the wall the thick gets only need to think for one moment. No need for crystal ball

max gap allowed is 225mm ( just under 9'' ) you should tell them their '' thick'' I,m sure they will take that onboard and discuss it with you...

I do tell em. I told him yesterday when they came to strip it that it was neither use nor ornament and that they neednt have bothered.

this sort of stuff comes up alot, however scaffolders have guidelines to follow.. if you want a scaffold a certain way, have a word with the gaffer BEFORE the job starts... that way they will give you what you ask for, as long as it fits in with guidelines... its no use telling the actual scaffolders as their erecting the job, as 99% of them ,will just tell you to fuk off... and I would strongly advice against calling them '' thick '' as this usually ends up with you getting battered..lol...

One lad said it wasn't me it wasn't me I was off when this went up. And the other lad said jack sh1t for ages before he came clean and said he put it up

And 7ft lifts pleeeeeeease.

2.1m a lift.... except base lift which can be 2,7m tied... all scaffs I know wouldnt say that mate..lol... if your sound with them, they are ok, but start off badly with them, and it usually ends in tears...

Scaffs are just people same as all trades. The idea that they are hard or summit just coz they erect scsff is bulkshhittt playground talk for grown men.
Yeah ive Seen plenty of mental scaffs...........
And plasterers, renderers,fabricators etc.

See how I left out plumbers and sparks

We usually get 2m lifts but 2.1 is better for me.

We arways sound with any any trade too. Were all to make a living as long as they ain't smart ar5e

2.1m is the max mate, usually its a high as you can stretch.... maybe it is playground talk, but ive met few scaffs that put up with any ****... its defo the most physical job in the construction trade..

2.1 is fine. At 2m u get a clunk on the head with a hard hat on.

I recon scaffs is a physical job for sure. But rendering is also just as.
Spraying 50 bags a day up and down the ladder moving the tonne plus about the job then having to rule the wet tonne up the wall then I section it off every single day is fair graft my chiropractor will vouch for that.

We had a lad on site this week saying he wouldn't do our job for love nor money. He was taylor wimpey labby mind

Just call them back john and tell em adjust for plastering. I do it just to remove some tubes touching the wall. 4 of them turn up and ask me what i want cause they gotta be somewhere else.
No money in callbacks

Saw a bricky last week running in the top courses up to the soffit. Scaffold was universal so about 4 ft from fascia. It looked very uncomfortable for a whole day. No wonder they get bad necks etc

I would have sooner not had the scaff really. It was ashlar up to 3.2 and there was a cut right on the scaff line...

they will build it how you want, just have a word with the boss... they,ll help you out all the time if your ok with them...
