Pva in mix

working with a mate today. He's started putting pva in his water when mixing multi...felt greasy and wasn't impressed
Am I missing something with this ??
 
seen it all over the years on here.....nothing surprises me anymore on here.....like the t**t not long ago on here who said he mixed 50/50 pva and sbr together for preparation prior to skimming, I mean why the fk would you even do that?
He seemed to be quite proud of it as well.
Never read so much bollox in all my 35 years in this trade.

@windy PVA mixed in finish will make it slimy and all those tiny Little Plaster particles start to bind together before it’s set. That’s why it tears when you move it.
