price per square ft

hi every1 , im looking for the going rate at the moment per sq ft for boarding and s+c float and skim.
I have been asked by a local builder for a price & I was thinking of going in at between £3.50 - £4.00 .
is this about right or am i too low or too high , this could lead to other work so im wanting to be on the
right side of things at this stage . cheers

Usually you price per square metre.

boarding 3-4 p/m
skimming 3-4 p/m
float and set 7-8 p/m

these are good prices for you and him, try him for more and then you can take a knock

Thanks for your reply rich , how much do you reckon for 1000 sq ft labour only for boarding out s&c and skim which is about 11 days for a 2 & 1 squad ??? ??? ???

1000 feet is 305 square metres. is this 304 float and set and 305 boarding + skim ??

this is all ceilings boarded & about 6 studs boarded, 70 boards in total then the block walls s&c &
the whole thing skimmed.

Its hard to say, best way is if you think 11 days for you and your boys add a day for fook ups so say 12 days.

How much per day do you all want and x by 12

I was looking at about £3,800 does that sound about right in the current climate ?

£3800 - 20% = £3040

Labourer 12 days at £40 net = £480

2 x spreads so the balance of £2560/2 = 1280 divided by 12 = £106 after tax per day

sounds ok to me

70 boards at 3sqm each is 210 x 7 = 1470
if theres 310 metres in the job youre left with 100
so 100 x 8 = 800
800 + 1470 = 2270 ???
