Just after a bit of advice on prepping lime Mortar bricks for sand/cement/lime render ... A good hose down,? rendagrip? Any others?

knock some rendakeys into the mortar bed.

Do folks still use scud coat or is rendagrip modern version?

Are they very high suction? Would be like going over thermalites.

I have done loads in the past with a good dousing of water but a weak scratch coat.

If breathability is not a problem then rendagrip and the usual strength render.
