Poured concrete wall plastering

Hello,

First time poster looking for some advice. We have a poured concrete, retaining wall in our garden, roughly 2m high / 12m long that we'd like to spruce up a little by plastering over. It was poured using a neighbors "farming" forms - so a few little dents and bulges from the forms were reflected in the finished pour, but nothing too bad. We thought it added character at the time  !!!

The plaster is for aesthetics only, no practical purpose or waterproofing required, napped as a finish to match house. The wall is literally just holding back raised ground behind it. It is 9" thick so doubt we'll see too much moisture getting through and eventually the wall will have various climbers and plants so won't be too noticeable if any does.

Could anyone tell me do we need to consider the mix of the plaster we'd need for adhering to poured concrete rather than plain concrete block? Scudding recommended? Would a scratch coat be required? Could a lime / white sand mix be used for brightness? Would we need a particular type of bonding agent to be applied first to the wall or mix pre any work being done?

Thanks all.

A good local plasterer will sort that out for you.:sisi:

Just a point on the white cement if you are having plants climbing up it the render will turn green from the chlorophyll in the leaves.
You need to spatterdash the wall first if there is no key on the concrete
