I think it is about time we tried to look at the bright side of things.

Its all got a big negative on here and on other platforms and lets be honest we do all still have a lot to be grateful for.

We are not being bombed and stomping about in no mans land, things could get a whole lot worse.

Everybody is going through something that is stressful or pulling them apart and on here is a place we can escape normality and lets be honest there is enough hate and negativity in the world at the moment so lets try and keep this place a jolly happy place.

Lets try and look at the good things in life

Our family has done ok through this shitstorm, I'm glad for that.

Tbh the nature of platforms, forums and the media and being online generally is to stir controversy, challenge opinions, bully, self posture, push agendas etc. So tbh the best way to keep positive would prob be to stay offline completely...give the Internet and the news and media a rest and go fishing, go for a walk, get some exercise ,spend time with the kids, learn a new skill....

Won't do much for the numbers on here tho lol

On one level, I agree (y)

On a totally different level, the world and it's events (good and bad, ordinary and seemingly crazy) can be considered as being an expression of the collective subconscious of it's population. That's a pretty deep philosophical rabbithole, but it can be healthy to consider many different perspectives on life, rather than (generally-speaking) becoming too entrenched in an 'Us & Them' or 'Me versus Others' standpoint, where one considers oneself an almost 100% innocent party, with no hand whatsoever in the world one perceives as 'out there'.

Life's like a box of chocolates if you sit in the sun too long you will turn into a melt!! Get out the house and turn news off!

Still can't believe people are driving around in masks utterly brainwashed...if the government did want to push a new agenda it would be so so easy...next it will be wear you mask in bed if you are leaving the window open...

We are in a battle at the moment with our nursery...can you believe the staff wear masks all day in there bubbles? The kids don't see any facial expressions and can't communicate directly...this will have major implications on development...

I've got good news a touch of spring is knocking on the door this week. Goodbye to winter I say.. so Mark my word it going be slightly better this summer at least we can go to the pub for a pint and a bit of banter

Remember the 'beast from the east'? That was in March. Just saying.

Obviously the staff don't wont to catch it from the kids that have irresponsible parents then pass it on to families trying to do the right thing.
If you feel that strongly, its your child you look after it and its development

As nice as that sounds I don't think you will...you'll be sat outside in the cold and when allowed in doors you'll be strictly monitored on tables....that on top of people realising beer is only about £1.50 a pint from supermarkets will kill the pub game.

Talking of which, we have not had our local Jehovah's witnesses round for a while.
I may go and knock them up and check they are ok.

Can see a market change in some pubs to become just food oriented and charge corkage

I don't think you get it? The masks don't work. Do you think a cloth mask is going to stop you from breathing in asbestos particles at work or paint fumes when spraying? Of course not you would need specialist filters that no one is using and this still wouldn't stop you passing it on to other people.

The masks are a false sense of security.

If I said to you put you cloth mask on and walk in to a COVID ward would you do it? haha...

Good luck not catching it!!

I agree with Danny that its high time for some positivity (everywhere, not just TPF).

World events have messed humans up more psychologically than physically (not that I'm dismissing the latter). Martin Seligman could barely have anticipated how massive a contribution his lifes work might have to play, what with the bizarre events of 2020->

Funny how no one's suggesting to leave the weak minded to their devices though. Plenty of talk about just letting the virus run it's course, or everyone getting on with life and only shielding the vulnerable. How about if kids don't have enough resilience or people's mental health is suffering just ignore them? After all, if the species is to survive we'd be much better of with stronger, mentally resilient genes being in the majority.
