My friend looking to have his bathroom replastered but there is an internal brick wall with hollows in the joints, can hardwall be applied straight on this or would they need to be repointed before hand?

If the brick work is sound and by that i mean the wall is not moving in the areas you meantion then hardwall straight over should be ok but, re pointing would not hurt if you have the gear there. However if the wall is moving get someone with a bit more knowledge to have a look or post photo's here we like photo's and can advise better :RpS_thumbup: if the bricks are loose you can stabalise them with pieces of slate hammered into the joints but, again if not sure post pic's or get a bricky or builder to look at it
