Plastering up to existing plaster???

Hi all I have removed a set of built in wardrobes and need to plaster up to this existing plaster can I just skim up to it and feather it in and do i need to skrim it between the two

Well pardon me all over the place, make sure to post some pics mate, would love to see the finished work.
Here is the finished work pics as requested I was just on here to ask a bit of advice as I don’t have the experience some of you on here have but I don’t think I’ve done a bad job the walls are flat that’s the main thing lol and this was my first ceiling over artex

Did you do a plastering course??
Not a bad effort better than half the efforts you see being posted on here by plasterers
 
I think you’d make a good go at plastering if you’d been taught properly .. is it your own shop??
No not my shop but I run it with another lad, I am keen to do a bit more plastering to be fair and like you said being shown the right way would help not sure how much I would learn from a course would be better mixing plaster for someone who could show me bits here and there
