for years i have always gave walls 2 coats of pva, then plastered when second coat was tacky, but this last year igive the walls 2 coats of pva the day before, then skim straight on to it when set and hard , had no problems whatsoever, 100 per cent success, just use wickes own pva, approx 8 quid for 5 litres.have stopped using the more expensive bond it cost approx 58 quid. anybody else skimming on to set/hard pva,as long as you give the walls 2 coats, apply day before no problems and a lot cheaper .:RpS_biggrin:

yes all the time, its just faster if you only have 1 room or setting, if im re skimming a house i prep all the area by scrimming and pva 2 coats, never had it come off.

yep same as :)

If you want a bit more reassurance scrape a bit back and you will see the PVA has come back to life again :)
