Plastering a patch?

Hi I’m new to plastering and was looking for some advice please?

I had a leak in the loft and it caused the plasterboard to be damaged so iv replace that part of the ceiling with new plasterboard now do I scrim tape it then PVA then apply 1st coat all over as I’m plastering the whole ceiling then go on from there

Or do i

Plaster that section 1st wait for it to go off then plaster the whole ceiling?

Cus he don’t know how to patch it up properly

Skim over your tape then skim the whole ceiling

Get someone who can Ames Tape, its not a big job.

Thanks appreciate the messages to those of you that have been helpful
The whole ceiling needs re plastering though but just was unsure if I was to re plaster the patch before doing the 1st coat
