hi guys been given a room to skim 4.2m *3.5, its all boarded out top to bottom and white side facing. i watched the challenge tommy walsh show and before he had to plaster a wall he unibonded the plasterboard white side facing first. what side do i plaster the white or the back??? getting confused now keeps changing!

The paper finish has been designed in a way that they never need to be pva'd, if you do pva, then you're going to ruin there integrity. The only parts that will need it will be the non paper covered parts, generaly at external corners and reveals

I ve been skimming the pink fire boards all week in classrooms and the gear soon starts to grab on these pink boards
was thinking coating them in gypprime first to see if this help slow down the suction any of you used gypprime.

learnt my lesson with these boards last summer. was doing some 20m + ceilings, within 2 hours couldn't do no more with it. first one had to reskim it next day. ended up doing first half, trowled off, hit second half, trowled off, etc.

never even thought of using a primer before

I can confirm this is true, I skimmed a ceiling that had been boarded for 5 years, it was in a kitchen so I presumed, if anything it would have been a tiny bit greasy and set really slow.....................it set like f*ck!

In my experience cream of tartar only slows the setting time on backgrounds with normal suction it does not seem to help when you are up against it with high suction.
