Hi guys

I am renovating a house and in removing wall paper my other half stripped past the paper layer of the plasterboard.

I am intending on skimming it.

Would building paper do the job if I glued it on? Or could I just skim it without doing anything else? Or should I just take the board off and start again?

By the sound of it mate, and you being a diyer or amateur I would recommend removing the plasterboard and replacing it.you could reskim it but you would need a bit of experience to make a good job of it.

rag it off mate and reboard
are you gonna skim it yourself? have you done it before? i take it your not a plasterer :RpS_wink:

Pull all the loose bits of paper off, sand any bits that stick out, then give it a coat of bonding agent - WBA, thistle bond it etc.
Then skim away :RpS_thumbup:

Oh you think he means the complete front of the board/paper is off back to the gypo slurry :RpS_unsure:

Yeah in that case mesh or fibres in first coat of skim.

Or pva them & give a tight coat of bonding then skim.
