Wickes shifts more plaster than any other supplier ?
Wicked are the diy section of Travis Perkins. CCF are the plaster supplies section of Travis Perkins.

Interesting. Why do wickes do a 10% trade discount for non diy and undercut themselves(travis)

Of course I did demo boi. I just don’t understand the logistics. If wickes is the diy of travis, why do they do a trade card. And wickes plaster works out cheaper than travis. The best i got out of travis was a match to wickes price but free delivery. That’s on orders over 7/800 £ t
there is no such thing as fixed price.
the large plastering coms. will cut them down as they are able to take direct loads from british gypsum with the builders merchant not even having to handle the order.
a builders merchant will offer a contractor free holidays if they can give them a large order for say 1 year. the contractor then plays one merchant against an other to get the lowest price.
the plastering contractor will then purchase a small builders merchants, so that they can get the best price and the first deliveries every morning.

I use a company called huws gray. They’ve had boards for ages while jewsons didn’t. Now huws gray are short of boards.
I asked, if jewson are owned by saint Gobain and saint Gobain own BG why can’t they just bag the whole plaster market in the uk. They can’t for fair trading regulations.
It’s a bit of a mess at the moment. 8 pallets were dropped at my local merchant and the whole lot were taken straight away by one company. Panic buying maybe??? Nothing left for anyone else.

Got a good bit of advice of a good builder other day . He said he.s gave my number to a guy . I said I cant no owt to back end of oct . He said I need to put prices up then .

If you’re doing day rate for builders then you should be charging £200 / £250 a day mate. Trust me that’s more than fair!

Mate it don’t matter where in the country you are if you’re charging less than say the minimum £200 a day to builders then you’re a mug! If you can’t get that for a days Plastering then you really need to be doing something else!
