Plaster boarding a ceiling

Hi Guys

Going to overboard my first celing for a friend at the weekend, do you run with the beams or across them when overboarding, I know that you stagger them like brickwork, but just wanted to know which way?

Also my friend doesn't want coving, so how do I get a good finish where the ceiling meets the walls?

go across the joists as normal, tape the angle with fibre tape then cut it back once dry.

Also run a small wet brush along the corner just after second trowel
