sorry mate slightly off subject but have you tried a ready to go tyack? they sell them in b+q in a red and black sleeve .......they have the curve not quite as extreme as a marshalltown which helps with laying on and are light and well balanced etc .........if youre trowel hunting try one mate check the blade shape though there could be the odd duff one

i got one of them spunky they aint quite ready to use tho i had a mare with mine first couple of times i used it on finsh was alright after a couple of days roughing with it tho

Have a look on the refina website, wood handles for marshalltown's are £4.11 + VAT and delivery

The very same man who was willing to use a thirty year old centenary as a scraping trowel ?????? ;D

The Same man who caused more trouble than a RBS boss on another forum about which trowel is best ............ ;D now using a tyzack :o

the only thing thats changed in 50 odd years is the blade shape .......now theyve got it sorted they lurvely ;)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting thread, I was reared on tyzacks and I would only use the R2 go's for scraping the floor now. I've seen in excess of 25 of these trowels and they have all gone the wrong way.
