Hi,
I have discussed this issue with you guys in the past and would appreciate a bit more assistance…
I have had a quote from Rendercraft (£5,800) to remove the upstairs roughcast S&C render (c70m2 including openings) from my house and apply Parex throughcolour to address a damp penetration problem.
His spec. is base + 15mm scratched to 12mm, the solid walls fully meshed and openings beaded. I queried the 12mm thickness but he said that is adequate and will cost more if thicker is required. He also proposes to remove only the loose render and leave anything that’s solid. He also works off ladders and scaffold towers.
This company does come recommended by you guys but I’d just like a bit of confirmation that I’m getting reasonable value for money. A concern of mine is the cost considering he is not spending c£1200 for scaffold and c£1500 for hacking off existing render.
Grateful if you guys can put my mind at with regard the proposal.
